Siglin, Giles H., 83, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was born
March 30, 1929 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Giles and Rosalie (Holland) Siglin.
He was united in marriage on May 13, 1955 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Corene
Moore.
Giles served his country in the United States Army and was a Transportation
Specialist for the State of Oklahoma for 38 years. He enjoyed OU football,
playing dominoes and dirtyboard, traveling with his family and coffee with his
buddies. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 38 years and was a
Deacon, a Sunday School teacher and a choir member. Giles was a chaplain of the
Okie Bago RV Club and was also a chaplain with the prison, juvenile, nursing
home and mission ministries of his church.
Giles is survived by his wife, Corene Siglin of the home; son, Dennis G. Siglin
and wife Patti of Norman; daughters, Martha Price and husband Jerry of Norman
and Tammy Rhue and husband Doug of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Dawn Evans
and husband Michael of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Jay Price of Norman, Benjamin
Rhue of Norman, Hailey Rhue of Ft. Worth, Texas, Garrison G. Siglin of Norman,
and Abbey Siglin of Norman. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister,
Melba R. Fetzer.
Memorial donations may be made to the Faith, Courage, Grow Building Fund, 210 S.
Cockrell, Norman, Oklahoma 73071.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 and 1:00
p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013 with the family greeting friends from
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist
Church, 1289 Northcliff, Norman.
Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Tishomingo Cemetery, Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Arrangements for Giles and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home.
