James Howard “Jim” Sides of Madill, OK passed away Monday, December 10,
2018 at the age of 84. He was born on March 10, 1934 in Tishomingo, OK
to William Sides and Mary (Reed) Sides.
Jim lived most of his life in Rosemond, CA then moved to Silver Springs,
NV. He married the love of his life Rachel Lopez in 1998, they spent 20
wonderful years together. In 2015, they moved and made their home in
Madill. Jim worked for D&R Drilling in the oil field for awhile and also
worked as a welder. He loved to go camping, family get togethers,
listening to music, telling jokes, playing cards, and going to the
casino.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Glen Sides and Allen
Sides; and his first wife, Bessie (Loyd) Sides.
Survivors include his loving wife of the home, Rachel Sides; son, John
Sides and wife Cindy; daughter, Susan Sides; daughter, Brenda Gagnon and
husband Mark; son, James Allen Sides; brother, Andy Sides and wife
Maggie; sister, Jessie May Sides; 7 grandchildren and 9
great-grandchildren along with many other extended family members and
dear friends.
Services to honor Jim’s life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 17,
2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Pastor Kevin
Russell officiating.
Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery with
Jerry Burgess, Johnny Sides, and Glen Sides serving as pallbearers. The
family will accept friends Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for Jim’s services at
Brown’s Funeral Service Durant or Madill.
