Funeral Services for Mrs. Geraldine Robinson, 74, of
Tishomingo will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of
the Nazarene with Rev. Dick Sowder officiating, assisted by Rev. Chad Townsley.
Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Mrs. Robinson passed away on
Saturday, May 29th, at her home.
Geraldine was born on September 19, 1935 in Denison, Texas to Fred C. Hinkle and
Dona Foreman Hinkle. She graduated from high school in Wister, Oklahoma and
received an associates degree in business from Murray State College in
Tishomingo. She married S. R. Robinson on January 15, 1959 and lived away from
Tishomingo for a few years until returning in 1970. She and her husband bought
Chuck’s Grocery in Tishomingo in 1979 and owned and operated the store until
their retirement in 2005. Mrs. Robinson was a very active member of the Church
of the Nazarene and had been the church organist for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband S. R. Robinson, of the home; three
sons, Gary of Ada, OK, Terry of Bethany, OK and Ron of Houston, Texas; two
daughters, Sheri Marsh of Bethany and Shana Sorrels of Sherman, Texas; two
sisters, Wanda Combes of Tishomingo and Freda Brinkley of Greenville, Texas;
twelve grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Clay Combes, Carl Atteberry, Chad Atteberry,
Colin Atteberry, Jerold Phillips and Nathan Brinkley.
