Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery.
The
family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 pm AT THE
CHURCH. Memorials may be made in Betty's name to the "Reaching Out"
Cancer Organization, PO Box 773, Tishomingo, OK 73460.
Betty was born on May 30, 1942 in Russett, Oklahoma to Ruel Rubin Brown
and Nora Christine (Easley) Brown. She attended Ravia Schools and
married Daniel Parker on October 23, 1960 in Madill, Oklahoma. She
worked for several years at Murray State College and performed different
duties there, to include, being a Dorm Mother, working in the college
game room and in the cafeteria. Betty became a caregiver to the elderly
later in her life. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Esther Fern
Brown; a son, Billy Joe Parker; three grandchildren, Daniel Edward
Parker, Kristie Nicole Box and Kimberly Ann Box; two
great-grandchildren, L/CPL Kenneth Michael Pickens and Michael Ray
McCraw.
Betty is survived by her husband Danny; two sons, Curtis Parker and wife
Karon and George Parker and wife Donna; two daughers, Nora Houldson and
husband Bill and Susan Parker; eighteen grandchildren; numerous
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike McSwain and Jamie Brown and wife
Monta, all of Troy, Oklahoma; seven sisters, Bobbie Sue Seabolt of
Muskogee, Oklahoma, Karen Jones of Tishomingo, Patricia Tisdell and
husband Tommy of Reagan, Oklahoma, Judy Balentine and husband John of
Tishomingo, Darla Downs and husband Tommy of Durant, Oklahoma, Guyla
Hart and husband Mike and Jaenetta Brown, all of Tishomingo; numerous
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
