Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary A. Parish, 93, of Tishomingo,
Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at 10:00 a. m. in the Clark
Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating. Interment will follow in the
Tishomingo Cemetery. Mrs. Parish passed away on May 4th, 2012 at the Mercy
Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Mary was born on April 19th, 1919 in Troy, Oklahoma to Walter Issac Phelps and
Virginia Belle (Robbins) Phelps. She attended school in Troy and later at
Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. She married Jack C.
Parish on May 29th, 1937 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Mrs. Parish worked along side her
husband in the family business, Parish Refrigeration and Fixture Company in
Tishomingo for 50 years. She was a very business minded lady and owned several
rental properties. She also donated part of the land their company used to sit
on to Johnston County for use as a parking lot for the local Court House. Mrs.
Parish was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Tishomingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack C. Parish who
died on December 2nd, 1985.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann Williams and husband Philip of
Kingston, Oklahoma and Mary Jayne Beaver and husband Earl of Tishomingo; four
grandsons, Craig Williams and wife Jan and Kyle Williams and wife Jill, all of
Edmond, Oklahoma, Dr. Brandon Beaver and wife Stephanie and Clinton Beaver and
wife Shannon, all of Durant, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Logan, Landon,
Treslyn, Jace, Landry, Brooklyn, Olin and Vance.
Pallbearers for the service will be her four grandsons, Tom Hinchey and Jerry
Studdard.
