Services for Joe P. Nelson of Folsom, will be held June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Folsom Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Cook and Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.
Interment follows in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post No. 4869 and American Legion Post No. 164, both of Tishomingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Saylior West; and four brothers: J. A. "Buster," Lee, Corbet and Homer Nelson.
Joe is survived by his wife, Opal, of the home; a daughter, Shirley Longfellow and her husband, David, of El Dorado, Kansas; two sons, Arvil Nelson and his wife, Vera, of Albion; and Alfred Nelson and his wife, Jo, of Aline; four grandchildren: Renae Pugh, Sancie Bandy, Christina Eshelman and Christopher Nelson; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, James Nelson of Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo is in charge of arrangements.
