Clark Funeral Service

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. in the Tishomingo Cemetery for Mr. Charles W. Mathews, 59, of Chickasha, Oklahoma (formerly of Tishomingo). Brother Earl White will officiate the service. Mr. Mathews passed away on August 31, 2015 at the Wellington Hills Nursing Home in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Charles was born on April 15th, 1956 in Madill, Oklahoma to C. W. and Charlene Mathews. He lived most of his life in Tishomingo and Chickasha. Charles enjoyed cooking and eating, old country music and movies. HE loved his game chickens probably more than family. We loved to watch college football, especially the Florida State Seminoles and Oklahoma Sooners, but his favorite football coach was bobby Bowden of Florida State. He always was a peace keeper in the family and found ways to work with everyone, despite family disagreements. He always understood about life and people and was extremely patient and passive. Charles was hard-working no matter what he was doing, and always tried to do his best. He was a kind of BBQ critic and never was satisfied with different BBQ restaurants food or side items. He lived the life and was the definition of a simple man. He will be missed dearly and was loved the same. Always had a smile for you despite the situation and seemed to look at the brighter side of life.

Charles was extremely loving and proud of his three sons, Anthony Mathews and Ina of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Jerome Mathews and Julie of Mustang, Oklahoma and Justin Mathews and April of Chickasha, his mother, Charlene Mathews of Chickasha, his brother, Brett Mathews of Chickasha, as well as, many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. Charles was preceded in death by his father.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.
