With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joedan Nix Bigham, who passed from this life on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Joedan was born on July 3, 1981, in Hilton, Oklahoma, to Jimmy Nix Bigham and Peggy Denise (Thomas) McMillen. Joedan Bigham was a loving father, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who brought laughter and kindness wherever he went. Growing up, Joedan spent the majority of his days outside, usually causing a little mischief, riding bulls and horses, or bringing Dad the wrong tool he asked for while working in the shop. Those who knew him from an early age knew that Joe had a way of keeping life interesting and making memories in all situations. In adulthood, Joe was a hardworking man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He held several different jobs throughout his life, but his favorite role by far was being a dad. His first love was Jaynee Jo. Then came Tyler and Camryn, who lit up his world, and finally, Alyssa Brooke, who was the apple of his eye. He adored his daughters and never went long without reminding them—and everyone around them—just how special they were. Joedan was a simple man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always up for a good day on the water, going out with friends, or having a BBQ in his yard that usually ended with a fire to cap off the night. He loved hunting, fishing, singing, and dancing and never needed much of an excuse to have a good time. The fun was wherever Joe was. One of his favorite things to do was pester those he loved, especially his nieces and nephews. Making people laugh and giving them a hard time was simply part of who he was, and those are memories his family and friends will cherish forever.

Joedan is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Tina Bigham of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Buddy and Peggy Thomas of Ravia, Oklahoma; his beloved daughters, Alyssa Bigham of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and Tyler and Camryn Owens of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jaci and Tyler Inman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jenna and Kaleb Swboni of McAlester, Oklahoma; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd and Tiffany Thomas of Madill, Oklahoma, Bo and Mariah Thomas of Hennepin, Oklahoma, and Cody and Terra Thomas of Stratford, Oklahoma. He is also survived by countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his sweet baby girl, Jaynee Jo Bigham; his grandfathers, James Bigham and Toss McMillen; and his aunts, Cindy McMillen, Brenda Patton, Fran Barnes, and Vicki Mauldin.

Joedan always had a smile on his face and a way of making people feel comfortable and loved. His sense of humor, generous heart, and ability to bring people together will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. One thing we can all learn from Joedan is to enjoy the simple things in life, love the people around you, laugh often, and never pass up an opportunity to have a good time. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the many lives he touched.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Joedan’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Interment will follow at Tishomingo Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo. Arrangements are under the direction and care of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
