Joyce Marie Yeats Anderson was born on October 18, 1935 in Decatur, Texas to Homer Carl Yeats and Irene Yeats. Later the Yeats family moved from Texas to a Farm in Oklahoma. She went to Nida High School and attended the Nida Baptist Church. The church was built with some of her father’s and others donation of crops and monies so the community had a Church. She graduated from Nida High School and married Audie (Andy) Carroll Anderson on December 18, 1954 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was primarily a home maker and stay at home Mom to her three children. Joy and Andy raised their family in Duncanville, Texas. In later years Joy and Andy moved to Cedar Hill, Texas and also bought a small Hobby Farm in the Bullard Chapel Rd. area of Tishomingo in Johnston County Oklahoma. Oklahoma was always considered to be home. She enjoyed musicals, movies, going to the Beauty Shop, the Lord and her family and home.

She was preceded in death by her parents Homer Carl Yeats and Irene Coffman Yeats, her beloved husband Audie Carroll (Andy) Anderson and one grandchild Clint Jarrod Thorn.

Joyce is survived by her children, a son Steven Lee Anderson and two daughters Eva Marie Curtis and her husband Thomas Curtis of Holcombe, Wisconsin and Karen Joy Drain and Howard Drain of Corsicana, Texas; her grandchildren, Eric Lynn Drain, Joshua Lee Drain, and Amanda Katherine Drain, her brothers, Carl Yeats and his wife Patricia Yeats of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and James Don Yeats and his wife Vicki Yeats of Floyds Knobs, Indiana along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Joyce Marie Anderson will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Tishomingo Cemetery.
