Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Scotty Ray Putman, 45, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma on Monday, November 24th,2014 at 1:00 p. m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Tishomingo with Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating, assisted by Elder Samuel Huff.
Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in
Tishomingo. Mr. Putman passed away on November 18th, 2014 at the OU Medical
Center in Oklahoma City. Viewing for Mr. Putman will be held on Friday, from 1
pm until 5 pm, on Saturday, from 9 am until noon and on Sunday, from 2 pm until
5 pm. No family hour is planned at this time.
Scott was born on June 13th, 1969 in Tishomingo to Dennis Bailey and Linda (Timms)Bailey.
He spent the first few years of his life in Davis, Oklahoma. When he was five
years old, the family moved to Konawa, Oklahoma where he played baseball in
school and learned how to fish. The family later moved to Salem, Oregon where
they encountered many experiences with volcano dust. After about twelve years,
they moved back to Tishomingo where he finished school. At about nineteen years
of age, he went to work for Ken butler, a very experienced painter, who took the
time to teach Scott the skills that became his lifetime career. To watch Scott
putting texturing on a wall was like watching a ballerina doing a dance.
Scott was preceded in death by his father and the mother of his children, Rhoda
Perry. they had two children, Ashton Perry of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Scottie
Putman of Ada, Oklahoma.
Scott later married Beverly (Stevenson) Putman, who survives of the home,other
survivors include, his mother, Linda Hicks of Tishomingo, two brothers, Herschel
Putman of Springer, Oklahoma and Donald Lynn Bailey of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, his
sister, Melissa Bailey, and his granddaughter, Mari'elle Barnett, as well as,
other relatives and friends.
