R.J. was born on January 2, 1937 in Fillmore,
Oklahoma to Mitchell Brown and Victoria Mae Underwood. He spent
his working years ranching and loved being outdoors. Tinkering
on vehicles, cutting wood, painting and building fence; R.J.
always found a way to keep himself busy. He was a wonderful cook
and loved a good chili burger. Family meant everything to R.J.
and he adored and was so proud of his children. A loving father
who will be deeply missed.
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty
Brown; children, Richard Brown and wife Francis, Cynthia
Boydstun and husband Bobby, Mitchell Brown and wife Wilma;
grandchildren, Cynthia, Alexandra, Julie, Richard; great
granddaughter, La-Arya; sisters, Geneva Brown and Mina Hill; and
a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
R.J. is preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Brown; step mother, Adeline Brown; biological mother, Victoria Mae Underwood; son, Robert Brown; sisters, Agnes, Timma and Patricia.
Funeral Services for R.J. Brown will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM Sandy Creek Presbyterian Church in Fillmore, Oklahoma.
Interment to follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
A wake will be held at the home in Ada on Thursday, May 20, 2021. (1231 Campbell Court Apt A, Ada, OK 74820)
Those serving as pallbearers will be Mitchell Brown, Bobby Boydstun, Johnny Beshirs, Maurice Soap, Tyler Boydstun and Marty
Hill. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Russell, Bobby Harrell and
Shawn Futischa.
