Buddy was born on October 15, 1942 in Childress, Texas to Dee and Monnie Wright Tidwell. He was a graduate of Milburn High School and after graduation went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. Buddy married the love of his life, Willie Mae Mann, on June 26, 1964 and spent 56 years of marriage together until her passing just a few short months ago. He spent his working years doing maintenance work at the Tishomingo Golf Course and then went on to work at Murray State College until his retirement. Most importantly, Buddy was a minister; he loved sharing the word of God, adored relationships with people and never met a stranger. A man who loved his family deeply and never wanted to miss a chance of seeing everyone at a good ole family union. Buddy and Willie had the best times together and were truly best friends. They sang together, played the piano, loved bird watching, which Buddy could tell you just about every bird there was and going to the family cabin in Red River. He was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboy football fan, so if those games were on you could bet you could find him in front of the TV watching them. Heaven gained another angel and Buddy is back with his best friend and bride again.
Buddy is preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Willie Mae Tidwell; parents, Dee and Monnie Tidwell; brothers, J.R. and Clark Tidwell.
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his children, Bryan Tidwell and wife Rhonda of Ardmore, LaVena Reed of Madill, Vonda Blue of Ardmore; grandchildren, Chase Jewell, Kathrine Myers, Jessica Wickware, Monnie Jewel Reed; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Curly Ross of Borger, TX, Alice McBride of Sherman, TX and Gayle Dollar of Tishomingo; 1 brother, Gene Tidwell of Ontario, CA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss him.
Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Buddy will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Abundant Life Cathedral in Tishomingo.
Interment to follow at Russett Cemetery. Family hour will be Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home.
