Funeral Services for Mrs. Auda Lee Payne, 91, of Wapanucka, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. in the First Baptist Church of Wapanucka with Rev. Neal Alford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Payne passed away on
May 25th, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Auda Lee was born on October 9th, 1919 to Joseph L. Orr and Ollie Mae (Gibson)
Orr. She was raised in the Calvin-Atwood, Oklahoma area in Hughes County and
graduated from Atwood High School in 1939. She married Arvel Payne at
Holdenville, Oklahoma on March 13th, 1944. They lived in San Francisco while
Arvel was in the military and then lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma during his
college years. In 1947. they moved to Wapanucka where they raised their family.
Auda Lee owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for 30 years and worked on
the Johnston County Election Board for many years. She was a Past Matron of the
Order of the Eastern Star, active in the Home Demonstration Club and a Parent
Advisory for the local 4-H Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on April 11th, 2011; two
sisters; four brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Payne is survived by her daughter, Judy Payne of Cushing, Oklahoma; her
son, David Payne and his wife Patsy of Duncan,Oklahoma; two granddaughters,
Jennifer Ray and her husband Billy of Allen, Texas and Tricia Payne of FT.
Worth, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Ray; other relatives and a host
of friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be family members.
