Donald Robert Brooks, age 67, a Durant, OK resident. He was born on Wednesday, June 4, 1958, to Robert Michael and JoAnn Mary (Shaffer) Brooks, at Boston, MA. Donald passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Durant, OK.

He attended Garfield Elementary School and Ellis Junior High School in Elgin, IL before graduating from Olney High School in Olney, OK with the class of 1977. After graduation Donald had several jobs through the years from cook, cashier, ice delivery, and was a machinist at ETS-Lindgren in Durant for 25 years before he retired in March of 2025. Donald proudly served his country in The Oklahoma National Guard. He was a member of Fusion Bible Church in Durant. Donald loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, win or lose, going to concerts, he loved rock 'n' roll, helping and being a part of his church home, and just taking care of people.

Donald is survived by his sister, Mary Morgan and husband Dennis of Wapanucka, OK; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Brooks and wife Linda of Midwest City, OK, Mark Dewbery and Diana Watkins of Bromide, OK; nieces and nephews, Joe Morgan and wife Sydne of Talia, OK, Audrey Rochell and husband Colby of Duncan, OK, Jacob Morgan of Tiberon, CA, Jesse Dewbery and wife Crystal of Wapanucka, OK, Jason Edwards and wife Franshesca of Midwest City, OK; aunts, Jannette Wilson and husband Jerry of Antlers, OK, Zelda Pate and husband Terry of Antlers, OK, Linda Dewbery of Bromide, OK; cousins, John Brooks and wife Ellen of Texas, Joseph Brooks and wife Joanna of Elgin, IL, Jean DiFulvio and husband Bill of South Elgin, IL, Patrick Brooks and wife Connie of Lake In The Hills, IL, Jim Brooks and wife Laurie of Geneva, IL. Along with many other dearly loved friends and family.


Donald was preceded in death by his father, Robert Michael Brooks; mother, JoAnn (Shaffer) Brooks Dewbery; step-father, Jesse Dewbery; brother, Michael Brooks; step-brother, Steve Dewbery; step-sister, Julie Dewbery.
