Graveside Services for Ms. Dorothy Mae Pope, 91, of Ravia,
Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at 1:00 p. m. at the
Ravia Cemetery. Ms. Pope passed away on November 14th, 2015 at the Washita
Valley Living Center in Pauls Valley. Visitation and Viewing will be held on
Friday, from 8:30 am until 5 pm at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born on October 12th, 1924 in Thackerville, Oklahoma to Henry Lee
and Betty (Barnes) Lee. She grew up and lived in Johnston and Murray Counties
all of her life. Ms. Pope worked at the Veteran's Center in Sulphur as a
Dietician, retiring with over 20 plus years of service. She returned to Ravia
and was very active in the Senior Citizens Center there, until moving to Pauls
Valley to be near her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Arlis A.
Pope and a daughter, Helen Laverne Lanoy.
Ms. Pope is survived by two daughters, Shirley Pope of Pauls Valley and Margaret
Grissom of Little Axe, Oklahoma, two sons, Tom Pope of Little Axe and Robert
Pope of Marion, Indiana and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
