He was born on November 7, 1936, in Wamego, Kansas to the late Cecil William Nelson and Eldelita Mae Henn Nelson. Rocky was raised in Kansas where he received the Lord as his Savior at the age of 13 at a bible school in Topeka, Kansas. He joined the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1958, receiving an Honorable Discharge. Rocky worked until the age of 85, spending 35 years driving cross country, some people say as a ‘Truck driver” but he said as a “relocation engineer”! Cecil enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time and playing cards with his family. Rocky spent a lot of time outdoors looking at Gods wonders.
A keepsake video is available through the funeral home.
