Services for Glen Steven Harris, 83, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Travis Muse will officiate.

Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
 

Mr. Harris passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home. He was born January 9, 1934 at Pontotoc To William A. and Barbara Ella Holmes Harris. He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Pontotoc High School. He attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, East Central University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, and received his Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University.
 

He married Barbara Jean McCollom May 11, 1957 in Ada. She preceded him in death January 8, 2003.

Mr. Harris was an Educator, School Principal and Superintendent of Schools. He was a Principal for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and retired as the Equal Opportunity Administrator for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was of the Methodist faith and was also a member of the Elks and the Masons. Mr. Harris served in the U. S. Army as an Infantry Gunner.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Harris of Edgewood, NM; two sons, Steven Bennett Harris of Phoenix, AZ and Michael Eugene Harris of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters, Helen Noveeta Gross of Amarillo, TX, Nina Ruth Worthington of Tyler, TX and Oda Omega Pearce of Kerrville, TX; a grandson, Michael Eugene Harris, Jr. of Littleton, CO; his significant other, Peggy J. Romans of Ada; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Harris of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
 

Bearers will be Jerald Winton, James A. Dixon, Dick Dixon, Jerry Harris, J. D. Norman and Dale Harris.
