She went to work as a secretary for Durant Stockyards at the age of 17 and also worked many sales in the area. Jessie was co-owner of Bonham Stockyards for several years and owner of Durant Stockyards for 28 years. She owned and operated the stockyards until she was 74. Kenneth and Jessie Blackburn owned and operated Blackburn Propane for 55 years, and she was also the owner of Texoma Mini Storage for 18 years. She was a conservative, hardworking lady that enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Jessie especially loved the many visits with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church, reading her bible and shopping with her girls. God, family and work were the important things in her life.

A special thank you is extended to Jackye Russell, Tony Webb and Elaine Whitmire for their loving care; also the family would like to thank her physical therapists Jodi and Theresa. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery at 394 W. Mockingbird, Durant, Oklahoma 74701.
