Louie "Butch" Allen a beloved family member and longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the age of 69 years 10 months and 17 days.
He was born in Littlefield, Texas to Doyle Chasteen and Lola Marie (Newton) Allen on Wednesday, April 26, 1944.
Butch married Rhonda Rains in Durant, Oklahoma on Friday, September 10, 1965.
Louie proudly served his country and community in the United States Army from 1963 thru 1969.
Butch was a member of the Armstrong Baptist Church. He had a
deep respect for the land and dedicated his whole life to it as a farmer and
rancher. Butch served for many years on the Silo School Board
because he believed in giving children the best
education and environment to learn in as
possible. He knew how to enjoy himself and always liked to dance. Butch passed
on his love and respect of the country life to his children and grandchildren
and often could be found at livestock shows and was a proud supporter of FFA and
4H at Silo Schools.
Louie is survived by his wife, Rhonda of the
home; sons, Scott Allen and wife April of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Brian Allen and
wife Angela of Silo, Oklahoma; grandsons, Blake Allen of Durant, Oklahoma, Alec
Fuller of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Brock Allen of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Braden Allen
of Silo, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Bailee Allen of Silo, Oklahoma and Emery
Allen of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sister, Brenda Weatherbee and husband Bill of
Madill, Oklahoma; brother, Larry Allen of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents,
Doyle and Lola Allen; brother, Lannie Allen.
Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Friday,
March 14, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
A Funeral Service to honor his memory will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Armstrong Baptist Church with Bro. Monty Wood and Bro. Russell Fincher officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Allen, Tony Rains, Kelly Rains, Luke Allen, Anthony Allen and Greg Gastrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ansiel, Dan Linville, Leo Geer and Hack Mitchell and Doug Routhe.
