Funeral Services for Mr. J. C. Bray, 85, of Tishomingo will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at his residence, north and west of Tishomingo, with Ted Pittman officiating, assisted by Pastor Jon Smith. Music will be provided by Mary McDonald and Tim & Linda Stinson. If the weather is inclimate, the service will be moved to the Clark Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. Mr. Bray
passed away on Monday, April 26th at his home.
J. C. was born on March 18, 1925 in the Bellwood Community in Johnston County to
James Stephen Bray and Ethelena Hughes Bray. He served in the United States Army
during WWII and later attended Murray State College and graduated from Oklahoma
State University. J. C. married Winzola Quinton on August 23, 1952 in Ada,
Oklahoma. He worked in the lab for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, taught
school for two years at Sterling, Oklahoma and was a rancher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James & Lester Bray.
J. C. is survived by his wife Winzola, of the home; his brother, Bill Bray of
Tishomingo; sisters-in-law, Jody Bray, Viola Seely, Maggie Pittman and Winnie
Hawkins; also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Mike, Donnie, Ricky, Rocky and Kevin Bray
and Charley McIntire. Honorary Bearers will be: Allen Hearrell, Liz Hearrell,
Benny Maytubby, Joe Attebery, Frank Randol and Billy Smith.
