He worked
construction and concrete his whole life; owner and operator of S.
Hughes Construction. Selwyn married the love of his life Alice
Louise Graham on December 18, 1998 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma. They
loved spending time with their family, vacationing together and
getting on their Harleys and going for a ride. He was musically
gifted and was a bass guitar player since he was a young boy; he and
his brother had the Mill Creek Band. As a child his nickname was
tractor and he enjoyed chalking up cars and turning them into
“puddle jumpers”. There was never a dull moment around him; living
life to the fullest in whatever he was doing. A wonderful husband,
loving father and a great friend to so many who will be deeply
missed.
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his beautiful bride of
31 years, Alice Hughes; children, Terry Hughes of Fillmore, Kalob
Albertson and wife Holly of Mill Creek, Kyle Albertson of Sulphur,
Christie French and husband Trever of Kingston, Summer Fairman of
Columbus, Ohio, Donjalec Hughes of Sulphur, Natasha Preast and
husband Lonnie of Mill Creek; 17 grandchildren, 4 great
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Selwyn is preceded in death by his parents, Minor and Audrey Hughes; sisters, Mina Maxon and Jennette Holfer and many friends.
