Funeral Services for Mildred M. Lowery, 94, of Stratford,
Oklahoma (formerly of Tishomingo) will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at
2:00 p.m. at the Fillmore Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jerry Imotichey
officiating. Interment will follow in the Fillmore Cemetery. Mrs. Lowery passed
away on Wednesday, December 23rd, at the Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada,
Oklahoma.
Mildred was born on August 20, 1915 in Fillmore to Alexander “Bud” Mathis and
Ova Green Mathis. She attended school at Fillmore and married Earl J. Lowery on
in 1932. She resided in Borger, Texas and later Oklahoma City where she worked
for the Bunte Candy Company for 25 years. After retiring, she moved to
Tishomingo, living here until moving to Stratford in 2000 to be hear her nephew
and niece. Mrs. Lowery was a longtime member of the Fillmore Missionary Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 30, 1977 and
her brother, Paul Mathis.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by her niece, Margie Stewart & her husband Jerry of
Carmen, her nephew, Larry Callen & his wife Myra of Stratford and their two
daughters, Holly Elliott & her husband Daren of Phoenix, Arizona and Lori Goss &
her husband Mike of Allen, Texas. Other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be family and friends of Mrs. Lowery.
