PHILLIP LEON UTZ
1950 - - 2015Phillip Leon Utz of Tishomingo was born on November 7, 1950 in Union City, Indiana to the late Chalmer Utz and Norma Mae “Schaadt” Utz.He passed from this life on Monday March 9, 2015 at his home in Tishomingo at the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 2 days.Phillip came to live in Tishomingo in 2003 from Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth, Texas.Some of Phillip’s interests were working on cars. When he was younger he loved to go hunting and he enjoyed going fishing.Phillip join the United States Army on June 12, 1970 where he served in Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge on June 11, 1973.He is survived by his brother Christopher “Chris” Utz of Tishomingo; two sisters, Patty Utz of Loraine, Ohio; and Vicki Kohne of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; one aunt, Lois Gross of Troy, Ohio; as well as other relatives and numerous friends.Phillip was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Utz; one brother Eddie Utz; his parents; and nephew Kenny Utz.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 in Tishomingo Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Connerville Cemetery.Stanley Sewell will officiate the services. Pallbearers for the services will be Rusty Schultz, Mike Pierce, Brian Russell, and Chris Utz. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Roger Wallace, Ronald Cole, and Jay Lane.Charitable donations may be made be made to any animal shelter of your choice in Phillip’s memory.Online condolences can be made at www.tishomingofuneralhome.com.Services are under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home 705 North Kemp.
