Ada-Services for Larry Wayne Sampson, 74, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Fitzhugh Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate.
Burial will follow at Connerville Cemetery. The family will
receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Sampson died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at home. He was born February 25, 1942
in Connerville, OK to Floyd Merle and Minnie Eva Bow Sampson. He married Sarah
Jane Price on August 12, 1987.
He attended Pontotoc School and Murray College and East Central University. Mr.
Sampson taught school for a short time and later was employed with Colvert
Dairy. He retired after 31 and a half years of service with Mead and Wonder
Bread Bakeries. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, raising cattle,
active with the Fitzhugh Baptist Church and a member of the Pontotoc Lodge A.F.
and A.M.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Sampson of the home; a daughter, Terry
Allenbaugh and husband Jim of Ada; a step-daughter, Peggy Marshall of Little
City, OK; grandchildren, Nicole Allenbaugh-Buxton, Tristan Self and Ashley
Logan; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Bella and Britton Buxton and Ryker and Lilly
Logan; three brothers, Floyd J. Sampson of Texas, Joe Sampson of Ada, Loyd
Sampson and wife Georgia of Ada; one sister, Edith Sedlacek and husband Ed of
Meeker, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
