Funeral Services for Mr. Jon G. Smith, 53, of Tishomingo,
Oklahoma will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2015 at 10::00 a.m. at First Baptist
Church in Milburn, Oklahoma with Rev. Richard Corn officiating. Private
interment will follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery. Mr. Smith passed away on
June 16th, 2015 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 7:30 pm
until 9:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Jon was born on August 13th, 1961 in Perry, Oklahoma to Roger Bocox and
Charlette Fuentes. He was adopted and raised by Bobby Jack and Lawanda Medlock
Smith in September of 1962. He attended and graduated from Milburn High School
in 1979 and lived in Milburn, Oklahoma. Jon was a lifelong member of the Milburn
Baptist Church and dearly loved the time he spent there. He loved fishing and
spending time with his family. Jon was a carpenter by trade and loved to collect
old, antique things. He spent a number of years working in nursing homes
assisting the elderly, which his family feels was his true calling.
Jon was preceded in death by Bobby Jack Smith (father), Roger Dean Design
(brother), and Ryan Coppedge (son-in-law).
He is survived by his daughter CeCelia Ann (Smith) Coppedge, his mother Lawanda
Medlock Smith, birthmother Charlette Fuentes, birthfather Roger Bocox, brother
Tim Smith and wife Gina, nephews Jakob and Joshua Smith, birthsisters Linda
Smith and husband Terry, Patti Brunett, Darla Sprague and husband Danny,
birthbrothers, Toby Doyal and wife Tonya, Bobby Bocox and wife Alesa, Mark
Morgan, Roger Wayne Bocox, Harold Ridgeway and James Ridgeway.
Honorary Bearers were: Deuane Dodd, Brad Dodd, Chris Dodd, David Dodd, Joe
McEachern, Jon Markel Lockwood, Steve Bailey, Ronnie Coppedge, Gary Poole and
Rick Martin.
