Joye "Mama Joye" (Callen) Ragan, daughter of the late Lonnie and Jaunita "Tug" (Hart) Callen, was born on February 28th, 1935 in Fillmore, Oklahoma. She passed away on October 13th,2014 at her home in Milburn, Oklahoma. Joye was 79 years, 7 months and 13 days old at the time of her death.

Joye graduated from Milburn High School in 1952. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She went onto obtain a Master's Degree in Special Education from East Central University. Her teaching career spanned 36 years in the field of Language Arts and Special Education. During this time in education, she touched the lives of thousands of students. Joye retired from teaching in 1993.

On may 21st, 1952, Joye married Ralph Ragan in Durant, Oklahoma. Their union has covered a span of 62 years and 5 months.

Joye is survived by her husband Ralph, of the home, daughter, Joni Jeter of Milburn, son, Don House of Madill, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law, Shari Williams of South Dakota, brother, Dale Callen and wife Veronica of Fillmore, six grandchildren, Callen Ragan and wife Jodie, Colten Ragan, Gage Jeter, Grant Jeter, Charity Williams, and Savanna Weddell, two great-grandchildren, Taryn and Terrah Ragan, two sisters-in-law, Cletus Ledbetter and Venita Coffee, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding Joye in death were her parents, and a son, Terry Ragan.

Family and Friends Hour will be held on Friday evening October 17th, from 6-8 pm at Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 18th, at the Church of the Nazarene in Fillmore at 11:00 am with the interment to follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn.

Donations in memory of Joye Ragan can be made to the Johnston County Oklahoma Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Group at any Landmark Bank.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Gary Lawley, Jerry Lawley, Larry Callen, Don Reed, Marlon Johnson and Randal Johnson. Honorary Bearers will be: Callen Ragan, Gage Jeter, Colten Ragan and Grant Jeter.

The Ragan family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to Good Journey Home Health, Cross Timbers Hospice, Mercy Hospital of Tishomingo, Jacy Spence, and Kim Neely for the professional, compassionate and loving care they gave our Mama Joye.
