Memorial Services for Mr. Ralph J. Pynchon, 82, of Tishomingo
will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. in the Clark Funeral
Chapel with Rev. Eugene Ledford officiating. A private family burial will be
held at a later date. Mr. Pynchon passed away on May 9th, at the Mercy Memorial
Health Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Ralph was born on July 6th, 1928 in Richmond, California to Glenn Pynchon and
Thelma McCauley Pynchon. He served in the United States Army during WWII and
married JoAnn Francis Cargill on January 18th, 1963 in Carmel, California. Ralph
was a school teacher for 30 years, having taught marketing and business
education in California and Wisconsin. He was an accomplished piano player and
at one time had sold pianos, real estate and automobiles. He and his wife moved
to Johnston County in 1995 from California. Ralph was a member of the American
Legion and had attended the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, JoAnn Pynchon on April
3rd, 2010.
Ralph is survived by two daughters, Pamela La Frak and Mary Ann Porcopio; two
sons, Danny & David Pynchon; a grandson, Robert Scott Porcopio; other relatives
and friends.
