Funeral Services for JoAnn Francis (Cargill) Pynchon, 76, of
Tishomingo will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Fillmore Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Eugene Ledford officiating. A eulogy
will be offered by Terry Ragan. Interment will follow in the Condon Grove
Cemetery in Milburn. Mrs. Pynchon passed away on Saturday, April 3rd, at the OU
Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
JoAnn was born on May 20, 1933 in Fillmore, Oklahoma to Ervin J. Cargill and
Mary Clara Callen Cargill. She attended Fillmore, Milburn and Tishomingo
Schools, moving to California in 1950 and worked as a Bank Receptionist for the
Sacramento Savings and Loan. She married Ralph Pynchon on January 18, 1963 in
Carmel, California.
They moved to Johnston County in 1994. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Her
smile and personality melted hearts where ever she went. A virtuous woman will
be missed. We love you.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son & daughter; one brother, three
sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Ralph, of the home; two daughters, Pamela
LeFrak and Mary Ann Prycopia; three sons, Robert Scott, Danny Pynchon and David
Pynchon; seven grandchildren; her brother, Lee Cargill & wife Roberta; a
son-in-law and three daughters-in-law; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Ryan Minor, Terry Ragan, Kevin Wentz,
Preston Converse, Dale Callen and Doug Blackburn. Honorary Bearers will be:
Robert Ervin Scott and Sterling Wilson.
