Services for Gary L. "Red" Myers, 51, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Calvary Baptist church with the Rev. Keith Jacobs officiating.
Interment will follow at
Condon Grove Cemetery in
Milburn with military honors presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4869.
Mr. Myers was born March 26, 1948, in Milburn, to Clyde H. and Annie Lorene
Williams Myers. He passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at his residence.
He had lived in Johnston County most of his life and attended school in Milburn
through the 11th grade. He later received his G.E.D. He served in the United
States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged with a total of
eight years of service. Gary was Past Post Commander of the VFW Post 4869, in
Tishomingo, a member of the Leading Knights of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 2623 in
Atoka, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde H. Myers.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Myers of the home; and Rachell Myers of
Mangum; a granddaughter, Carissa Myers of Mangum; his mother, Lorene Myers of
Tishomingo; two brothers, John Myers of Milburn, and Donald Myers of Cameron,
N.C.; and four nieces.
