Graveside Services
for Mrs. LaNeta Dodd, 79, of Milburn, Oklahoma will be held on Wednesday,
December 16th, 2015 at 2:00 p. m. at the Condon Grove Cemetery Pavilion with
Brother Earl White officiating. Mrs. Dodd passed away on December 11th, 2015 at
her home.
LaNeta was born on January
11th, 1936 in Maud, Oklahoma to Gilbert Rufus “Doug” Medlock and Euvle Fay
“Cindy” (LaFevers) Medlock. She graduated from high school in Milburn and later
attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. LaNeta married Bobby Dodd
in September of 1956 and lived most of her life in Johnston County. She had
owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years and retired from the
Johnston County Health Department where she served as Registrar from 1982-1994.
LaNeta was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milburn and enjoyed sewing as
one of her hobbies.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, two sisters, Joan Bailey and Joyce Lockwood and one grandson.
LaNeta is survived by her
husband Bobby, of the home; four sons, Deuane Dodd and wife Shelli of
Tishomingo, Brad Dodd and wife Patty of Madill, Oklahoma, Chris Dodd of Milburn
and David Dodd and wife Laura of Woodbridge, Virginia, her sister, LaWanda Smith
of Durant, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other
relatives and a host of friends.
Pallbearers for the service
will be her grandchildren: Doug Dodd, Aaron Dodd, Cassidy Easterling, BreeAnn
Dodd, Zachary Dodd, Payton Dodd, Matt Dodd, Raygan Dodd and Ryan Dodd.
At Mrs. Dodd's request, the casket will not be opened at the service.
