Clark Funeral Service

Bobbie Louise Copeland was born in Fillmore, Oklahoma on July 10, 1923, the first child of Taylor Bruce and Gracie Baker Blanton. She attended school in Fillmore and graduated from high school in 1939. She was a longtime member of the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene where she played the piano for many years, including when she returned home to visit. She attended Bethany Nazarene Collge in Bethany, Oklahoma on a scholarship, but her formal education was interrupted by WWII and the marriage to her husband of 50 years, Leroy Copeland. During the war, while her husband was away, she worked in the defense industry as a mechanics helper building bombers for the war effort, and later she worked as a clerk in the Johnston County Court House in Tishomingo. After the war, she and her husband moved to Oklahoma City and later Moore, where they started and raised a family. In Moore, she pursued a long career as a real estate loan processor. Bobbie was always proud her Native American heritage; she was one-quarter Chickasaw-Choctaw and registered with the Choctaw tribe. She loved to cook and bake for her family, play the piano and garden, hobbies that she continued throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Betty Jo Johnson. She leaves two sons, Dwight and Larry; her daughter-in-law, Debra; six grandchildren, Cory, Daniel, Erik, Kelly, Leslie and TJ; one granddaughter-in-law, Keeley; nine great-grandchildren, Brennan, Caleb, Christian, Eleanor, Emily, Ethan, Garrett, Jocelyn and Iliana; one brother-in-law, Carl, two nieces, Colleen and Karla; six grand-nieces and nephews, Brock, Brooke, Christopher, Katelyn, Michael and Nicole, two great-grand-nieces and nephews, Donovan and Jocelyn.

Bobbie Lousie passed from this life at home and with her family on June 24th, after a long illness, just 16 days short of her 87th birthday. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 30th, at the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Eugene Leford officiating. She will be interred in the family plot in the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma.
