Funeral Services for Mrs. Tajuana Brantley, 79, of Durant, Oklahoma will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10:30 a. m. in the Herb Clark Memorial Chapel with Brother Earl White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Brantley passed away on May 23, 2016 at her home. The family will
receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.
Tajuana was born on January 23, 1937 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Nathan Wesley Howerton and Vollie Mae (Coffey) Howerton. She grew up and attended school there and later married Joseph Brantley on September 9, 1954 in Altus, Oklahoma. They moved to Durant in 1984 from Olustee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Brantley was a homemaker and had attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 19, 2014; and five brothers, Tommy, Bill, Chick, Paul and Bobby.
Mrs. Brantley is survived by three sons, Mike Brantley and wife Brenda of Tishomingo, James Brantley and wife Rhonda of Durant, Steve Brantley and wife Sherry of Durant, her daughter, Karen Wallace and husband Boyd of Blue, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Faye Morris of Apace, Oklahoma and Barbara Howerton of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchilden; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be: David Brantley, Shane Wallace, Boyd
Wallace, Eddie Gibson, E. J. Gibson and Elvis Belcher. Honorary Bearers
will be: Thomas Brantley, Thomas Brantley, II and Bobby Woolsey.
