Funeral Services for Tommy L. Boyd, 76, of Tishomingo will be
held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with
Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery. Mr. Boyd passed away on
Saturday, April 24th at the Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Tommy was born on July 12, 1933 in Tishomingo to Erwin “Pete” Boyd and Callie
Jane Hairell Boyd. He grew up in this area and graduated from Tishomingo High
School. He worked for many years as a shipping supervisor for the Lockheed
Corporation, retiring after 30 years of service. Tommy returned to Johnston
County in 1997 from Austin, TX and married Novice Kirkpatrick on October 4, 2002
in Gainesville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy; his brother,
Jackie Ray and his sister, Emma Jean.
Tommy is survived by his wife Novice, of the home; his son & daughter-in-law,
Tom & Pamela Boyd of Albuquerque, N.M.; his daughter, Donna Boyd of Cortez, CO;
two brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles & Gwen Boyd of Eastland, TX and Maurice &
Mary Boyd of Healdton, OK; three sisters & brothers-in-law, Betty & Bill Carr of
OKC, Clarice & Red Tucker of Reagan, and Joyce & Ron Roberts of Poteau; two
step-sons & wives, Hal & Janis Kirkpatrick of Prosper, TX and Clendon & Carla
Kirkpatrick of Artesia, NM; five step-grandchildren, Stephanie & Eric
Kirkpatrick, Lance, Aaron and Lindsay Thomas.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Nephews, David Carr, Nick Boyd, Bobby
Sharrock, Mike Sharrock, Larry Clark, Perry Boyd and Shawn Roberts.
