Norbert Doc "Nob" Blades

Mr. Blades was born January 2, 1915, at Lequire and died March 24, 1992, at his residence in Wapanucka. He was the son of James Issac and Carrie Bell Dunn Blades.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Blades served in the U.S. Navy. He had followed the occupation of saw mill worker and resort operator. He and the former Lorene White were married March 17, 1937, in Poteau.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lorene Blades of the home in Wapanucka; four sons, Ray Blades of Marietta, Jimmy Blades of De Soto, Texas, and Bobby Blades and Don Blades of Durant; four daughters, Marie Martin of Ardmore, Sue Bolin of Atoka, Juna Russell of Milburn, and Janie Davidson of Tishomingo; and four sisters, Jewel Kite of Taos, New Mexico, Helen Hutson of Peralta, New Mexico, Louise Phipps of Clovis, New Mexico, and Peggy Henbest of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Blades was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Arrangements will be under the direction of the Corbin-Clark Funeral Home with interment in the Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn. Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
