Funeral Services for Mary Alice Black, 58, of Tishomingo will
be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fletcher Auditorium at
Murray State College with Rev. Scott Barnes officiating. Interment will follow
in the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Mrs. Black passed away on Saturday,
December 12th, at her home.
Mary Alice was born on August 13, 1951 in Altus, Oklahoma to Roy Douglas Smith
and Betty Pauline Brown Smith. She attended school in Oklahoma City and lived
there and in Johnston County during her lifetime. Mary Alice married Jerry W.
Black, Sr. on April 22, 2006 in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma. She had worked as a
seamstress for the Lady Americana Company in Oklahoma City and most recently in
the maintenance department at Murray State College in Tishomingo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Smith and her brother, Edwin Smith.
Mary Alice is survived by her husband Jerry W. Black, Sr. of the home; her
mother, Betty Eitel of Fillmore; her children & their spouses, Bosco & Beth Ray
of Chickasha, Todd & Laura Ray of Ada, Tammie & Robert Cooper of Bridge Creek,
Buddy & Lauren Ray of Oklahoma City, Hallie & Shawn Egbert of Tishomingo and Jay
& Carrie Black of Tishomingo; her grandchildren, Josh, Kami, Sara, Kay, Jerry,
Chelsi, Cody, Tucker, Shelbe, Easton, Ashley and Seth; her great-grandchild,
Violet; her siblings & their spouses, r. J. & Sheila Smith of Oklahoma City,
Wilma Smith of Okarche, Betty & Larry Merrick of Wanette, Billy & Odessa Smith
of El Reno, Linda & Bill Fisher of Oklahoma City, Jerry & Kristi Smith of
Lexington, Kenneth & Donna Smith of Rush Springs and Terry & Linda Smith of
Bridge Creek; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Sons, Bosco Ray, Todd Ray, Buddy Ray and
Jerry Black, Jr. Honorary Bearers will be: Charlie Locke, James Robertson,
Jasper Stevens, Randy Blue, Larry Carter, Jr. and James Franks, Jr.
