Tishomingo — Today at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tishomingo, Okla., we will celebrate the life of Mildred Louise Beaver. The service will be officiated by Rev. Steve Ganeck, assisted by Rev. Tony Folger.
Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 12, 1929, to parents, Jeff and Jewel St. Clair in Milburn, Okla., and she left this world Feb. 14, 2011, at Mercy Memorial in Ardmore, Okla. She married Dean (Frog) Beaver June 24, 1950, a marriage lasting 60 years. The marriage gave them three daughters, Debbie Marler and special friend, George Cooper of Lone Grove, Okla., Diana and Randy Elmore of Ardmore, Okla., and Denise and Monte Latshaw of Tishomingo, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Jewel St. Clair; her brother, Jesse St. Clair; and a grandson, Chad Shodeen.
She is survived by Dean (Frog) of the home; her three daughters; grandchildren, Sunny Dawn Looman, Pam Lemmings, Terry (Tad) Miller, Tyler Latshaw, Tobi Latshaw, Landon and LeAnna Elmore and Travis Elmore; her great-grandchildren, Tori Meeks, Ryan Looman, Savannah Lemmings, Kyla, Gavin and Chloe Miller and Tessa Elmore; her sisters and best friends, Dudley Mae St. Clair and Dorothy and Tom Swisher; her brother, Junious St. Clair; and many nieces, nephews and "adopted" family members.
Mom was an accomplished seamstress and made the best fried chicken. She was always active in the churches she belonged to, whether it be working in the nursery, helping with Vacation Bible School or assisting with planning dinners for others in the church. She lived for the Lord and her faith would always shine through anything she did. She and our father raised the three of us to treat others the way we wanted to be treated. They lived this by opening their home to others who were stranded by snow storms, needing a place to stay if a family member was injured in a car accident, and even took in Colorado State cheerleaders after an accident on the interstate. Mom was always kind and a great listener, but, she would speak her mind in a heartbeat. Mom will be greatly missed, but we know she is at her home in Heaven. To honor our Mother we would appreciate anyone attending her service to wear bright colors as she always loved color.
