Calvin Lee "Junior" Whitworth, Jr., of Kenefic, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. He was born on July 9, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Calvin Lee Whitworth, Sr. and Ellie Juanita (Phillips) Whitworth.

Junior served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a truck driver, a role he performed with skill and reliability until his retirement. A true motor enthusiast, Junior's passion for car racing, particularly NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, was well-known. It was commonly said, “If it had a motor, he could fix it”, earning him the reputation of being incredibly handy and loving to turn a wrench.

Junior is survived by his three sons, Calvin Whitworth III of Butcher Pen, James Whitworth and wife Danielle of Norman, and Charlie Whitworth and wife Crystal Osborn of Butcher Pen. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Stanley Whitworth of Wilson, sisters Anita Whitworth of Tishomingo and Sandra Biggs of Wilson, his cherished grandchildren Lee, Ember, Colette, Christopher, Joshua, Justice, and Braelyn, and his adored great-grandchild Lux. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin, Sr. and Ellie Whitworth, and his brothers Roger and Terry Whitworth.

A funeral service will be held to honor Junior’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Butcher Pen Baptist Church with Brother David Boggs officiating. Junior will be laid to rest in Butcher Pen Cemetery following his service.

Those serving as pallbearers are James Whitworth, Braelyn Whitworth, Justice Whitworth, Michael Morris, Rance Biggs, Karl Biggs, Tommy Dove, and Jess Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Biggs, Jeffrey Douglas, Jimmy Cagle, Stanley Whitworth, and Shawn Thomas.
