Graveside services for James Bryan Spivey, 88, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17 in the Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Waylon Dancer officiating.

Born Thursday, February 18, 1932 at Wilson, the son of Frank Hubert and Rennie Winona Watkins Spivey, he died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Oklahoma City. Bryan was a busy man having a hand in many ventures over the years. He had worked as a farmer & rancher, a roughneck in the oilfield as a driller, a United Methodist minister, and a funeral director and embalmer. He had owned seven different funeral homes in Beggs, Mounds, Silver City, Lordsburg, Ringling, Healdton and Wilson. He was a member of the First United Methodists Church in Wilson, a Mason, a Lions and Kiwanis Club member, an Honorary Member of the FFA and a member of the VFW, having served during the Korean War in the Navy as a medic. Bryan was very proud of his Chickasaw heritage and was a member of the Chickasha Warrior Society.

Bryan married Gayle Miller on November 5, 1951 and preceded him in death on December 11, 2000. His is also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Hubert Girdwood “Tankie” Spivey and Danny Spivey.

Survivors include daughters, Kealise Linville and husband Danny of Sulphur and Leah Carver and husband Butch of Paden; grandchildren, Chance Linville and wife Kimberly, Bryna Anderson and husband Ryan, and Ty Spivey Carver and wife Danielle; and great-grandchildren, Macyn Anderson, Cade Anderson, Luke Linville, Dannie Linville, Ryder carver and Sloan Carver.
