Graveside services for Annie Lee Richey, 83, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 27th, in the Ringling Memorial Cemetery, Ringling with Rev. Jim Duck officiating.
Arrangements were directed by Alexander Funeral
Home, Wilson.
Born April 6, 1922 at Wheeler, Texas, the daughter of Hardy
Edwin and Loma (Long) Chapman. She died Sunday, December
25, 2005 in Clifton, Texas.
Her family moved to Comanche when she was an infant. She
graduated from Walters High School in 1940. She and
Walter T. Richey were married June 241941in Walters. He
preceded her in death on October 30, 1988. Mrs. Richey
worked in the shipyards in California during World War
II. Her husband was employed by Northern Natural Gas and
they lived in many states before retiring and returning
to the Ringling/Wilson area in 1983. In 1985 they
operated a ranch south of Ardmore.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas
and Ester Richey of Gladstone, Missouri; Johnny and Rita
Richey of Overbrook, a daughter and son-in-law, Fred and Kay
Baker of Clifton, three sisters: Mildred Harris of
Ringling, Winnie Owings of Ratliff, and Ruby Holt of
Wichita, Kansas: five grandchildren. John Baker of
Whitney, Texas; Liana Richey of Gladstone, Jason Baker of
Clifton, Titiana Camacho of Kansas City, Missouri, Anna Richey
of Federalsburg, Maryland, and Steven Suggs of
Burneyville, Four great-grandchildren, Chris, Zack, Dacie and
Justin, several nieces and nephews and a host of other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Edna
Chapman, Ethel Chapman and Nelda Ruth Roberts and a
brother Willis “Bud” Chapman.
Pallbearers were John Baker, Jason Baker, Carl Camacho, Johnny
Parrish. Larry Wilson and Ronald Harris.
