Graveside services were held Feb 27 at the Wetumka Cemetery for Ethel Hicks. Interment followed under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hicks was born July 2, 1897 in Tunnell Hill. IL. To Marin and Maggie (Taylor) Hurley and died Feb 24 at her home in Wetumka at the age of 108.

At the age of nine she moved from Illinois to Wetumka where she attended school. She married to William J. Hicks and they made their home in Wetumka until moving to LeFlore in 1936. They also lived in California from 1943 to 1945 later moving back to LeFlore, They finally settled in Wetumka in 1969.

Preceding her in death was two sons: J.W. Hicks and Kenneth Hicks, four daughters, Evelyn Kay, Bertha Buck, Imagene Wackerly, Edith Jane, and Mary Westbrook. Surveyors include her son J.M. (junior) Hicks and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
