Helen (Maxwell) Chapman

Services for Helen Chapman, 88, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Gerty Cemetery.

Mrs. Chapman died Monday, March 30, 2015 at a local nursing home. She was born March 18, 1927 in Allen to Sidney Oliver and Hester Mae Rail Maxwell. She lived in the Gerty area and was the Valedictorian of her class at Gerty High School.

She married Gerald C. “Cub” Yarbrough on March 30, 1946 in Stuart. He preceded her in death October 19, 1972. She later married Glen D. Chapman December 18, 2006. He preceded her in death July 28, 2008. She lived in Arizona, California and Golden, Colorado before returning to Ada in 1971. Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker and a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Richardson, Arvada, CO; two half- sisters, Beverly Carr and husband Olen, Wewoka and Debra Hatton, Allen; two half-brothers, Larry Maxwell, Ada and Michael Maxwell and wife Candy, Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rita K. Yarbrough Haag; son, Roger K. Yarbrough; five brothers, G. W. Maxwell, Alton “Jack” Maxwell, Wayne Maxwell, Willis Don Maxwell and Alfred Landon Maxwell.

Bearers will be Wayne King, Del Tollett, Jay Johnson, Mike Johnson, Bill Johnson and Sean Richardson.
