Funeral services for Mrs. Mary D. "Dorotha" Martin, 83, were held Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Dustin with the Rev. Robert Honeycutt officiating. Mrs. Martin died at the Wetumka General hospital on Oct. 15.
Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 3, 1907 in Holdenville, the daughter of J.W. and Mary Etta (Gildon) Self. She was a resident of the Dustin area in Okfuskee County most of her life. She was married to Gerome Martin at Weleetka on Dec. 20, 1925. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one son, Cecil Eugene Martin.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dustin.
Survivors include one son, Claude E. Martin, Dustin; one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Longworth, Dustin; one brother John Self, Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Opal Ponder, Kiowa, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Art Thomason, Bill Mason, Jack Robertson, Lewis Whitton, Phillip Cope, and C.A. Brown.
Interment was in the Dustin Cemetery under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
