Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cariker; her parents, Son and Alta Farrill; and her sister, Frankie McCright; and her brother, Emery “Bud” Farrill.

Margaret was a graduate of Stigler High School in 1948.  She married Gene Cariker on September 1, 1948. Her husband, Gene, died January 5, 1991.

Margaret’s first 20 years of marriage were spent raising her family in the West Texas oil fields.  In 1972 they moved from Odessa, Texas to Wichita, Kansas, where she was active in the Metropolitan Baptist Church and was an instructor in the Womens’ Bible Study Fellowship.  She and Gene retired to Whitefield in 1980 where she was an active church member who taught Sunday school, Bible School, sang in the choir, and prepared meals.

She was instrumental in “grandparenting” several young men...Elton Wolter, Jeremy Stubblefield and Kirk Ward, along with several others.

Margaret spent her widowed years continuing to care for her family and grandchildren, volunteering as a grief counseling counsellor, and maintaining the family farm.  She was a servant of God in every sense of the word who demonstrated an earthly example of God’s grace through her unconditional love of her friends and family, both far and near.
