Adolph Maldonado Garza

Meeker resident Adolph Maldonado Garza died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 77.

Garza was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Texas, the son of Juan and Marie (Maldonado) Garza.

He married Dorothy "Dot" Salter on Oct. 22, 1999, in Eureka Springs, Ark.Garza served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Garza was a retired butcher.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Meeker.
Garza was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Marie Garza; a granddaughter; a brother; and former wife, Mary Ann.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Garza of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Mary Garza, Oklahoma City, and Mike and Karman Garza, Newalla; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Cecilia and Edward Kauble, Phoenix, Ariz., Linda and Jim Hines, Choctaw, Vicky and Steve Yeargain, Harrah, Melody Garza and Lawrence Flud, Tulsa, and Tammy Barton; stepdaughter and spouse, Merri and Marion England, Meeker; brother and sister-in-law, R.L. and Patricia Garza; Yukon; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice Morris, San Jose, Calif.; Irene and Virgil Burrows, Edmond; Stella Nance, Guthrie; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held until 9 a.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Meeker with the Rev. Cal Brannon officiating.

Burial will be in San Bois Cemetery in Kinta, Okla., under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
