R.L. “Dickey” Lewis Bennett was born in Binghamton, New York on November 22, 1936 to Lawrence and Mary Jane (Carey) Bennett.
He passed away in McCurtain, Oklahoma on August 29, 2020 at the age of 83.

His grandchildren: Amanda Bennett, Franklin Nixon, Jean Burson, Alice Welch, Tina Nixon, Shaneese Nixon, Albert Baker, Cathy Bustamante, Randall Sullivan, Jason Sullivan, David Gabbard, Tallulah Gabbard, Jerry Baker, Derek Lane, Candice Culwell, Starlet Hayes, Crystal Sullivan, Jenny Sullivan, and Steven Baker
Numerous great grandchildren
His siblings: Elizabeth Watkins, Ronnie Bennett, Brenda Reagan, and Chucky Hughes
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Bennett, Mary Jane and Herman Hughes; one daughter, Lena Nixon; his grandson, Dustin Lane; and his siblings, Robert “Bob” Bennett, Brian Bennett, Linda Watson, Mary Nixon, Raymond Bennett, and Dale Hughes.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30 and from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 1 at Mallory Chapel in Stigler.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at McCurtain Assembly of God Church with Rev. Howard Orr officiating.
Interment will follow at Miners Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
