Laverne – Funeral services for Forest Prater Hardison, 74, will be at 2:30 PM Friday in the United Methodist Church at Laverne with the Rev. Austin Bizzell officiating.
Hardison will be buried in the Rosston Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Seeger Funeral Home of Laverne.
Hardison died Tuesday in his home northwest of Rosston, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born November 17, 1907, on his father's homestead northwest of Rosston and attended schools at Gate and Rosston, where he graduated from high school in 1927, then attended Northwestern State College at Alva. He was a member of the track team there.
Hardison served on the Rosston school board, was a member of the Harper County Agricultural Committee for 20 years, was a director of the Gate Co-Op Elevator when the new elevator was built, worked to secure REA for Harper County and the telephone system for the South Englewood line.
He and Luella Thomas were married April 23, 1937, at Alva. They established a home northwest of Rosston where they had since lived. He was preceded in death by a son Harry on December 6, 1976.
Survivors are his wife Luella of the home, two sons and two daughters, Dick Hardison, Gate, Tom Hardison, Higgins, Texas, Wanda (Mrs. Ralph) Trentham, Littleton, Colorado, and Linda (Mrs. Tom) Laubert, Lawton; a sister, Audra Wolf, Laverne, and eight grandchildren.
Hardison's family has suggested that those who wish make contributions in his memory to the Forest Hardison Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
