Roy W. "Bud" Stamm, Jr., was born September 7, 1920, to Roy W., Sr., and Erma Mae (McAvoy) Stamm in Benkelman NE and passed away on July 12, 2011, at the age of 90 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid OK. He graduated from high school in 1939.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps , later named the U.S. Air Force on December 6, 1942, and was honorably discharged in December 1948. He became a Staff Sergeant and worked in the motor pool .Upon his return to Nebraska he met his future wife, Mildred Steinbeck. They were married on April 23, 1947 and were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Bud and Mildred were happily married for 64 years.
He worked for 6 years on his uncle's farm in Nebraska, and then moved to Sidney NE where he worked in the oil field for ten years as a derrick hand. Bud then went to work for Michigan-Wisconsin Natural Gas Co. until he retired on January 1, 1986. He enjoyed 25 years of retirement with Mildred in Laverne, Oklahoma.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, and oldest son Carl.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; Carl's children, Brian Griffin and his son, Matthew, Kristy and husband, George Apple and their children, Blake and Hunter, Lisa and husband, John Cambre; his daughter, Pam and husband, Steve Freeman of Alva, OK and their children Jenny Lynn Freeman, Amy Jo and husband, Chris Trayler and their children, Tucker and Chloe, Lacey and husband, Adam Holder, Stefany and husband, Eric Nichols and their children, Tatum and Lane, and Dillon Freeman; his son, Leo and wife, Rhonda and their children Glenn and wife, Janet and their children Kodi Jo, Gretchen, and Kenna, Ray and wife, Mariah, and their son Raymund Leo.
