He was born Sept. 17, 1912, near Mocane to Everett and Minta Bailey Evans and died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Beaver Country Nursing Home, Beaver.

He attended Mocane and Forgan schools. He married Eunice Johnson Sept. 17, 1935, in Beaver. She died July 7, 1983. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Laverne , and Fort Supply Lions Club.

Surviving are three sons, Karl Dean Evans of Woodward, Henry Evans of Clearlake, and Lloyd Evans of Laverne ; one daughter, Dorothy Cornelson of Beaver; two sisters, Verla Weeks of Gate, and Leola Harris of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandson.

In addition to his wife, Eunice, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, Box 909, Laverne , OK 73848, to United Methodist Church or Laverne Memorial Cemetery.
