Jarita Kathleen "Kathy" Neal, a devoted daughter, loyal sister loving aunt, generous friend, and most caring spirit passed away just short of her 66th birthday on November 9, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born November 11, 1950 in Los Angeles, California to a father whose employment in the oil field meant a childhood filled with travel from nearby Texas to faraway Malta. Graduating from Sayre High School in 1969, Kathy began a career in government service in 1979 which included a three year stint working for US Congressman Mickey Edwards in Washington DC. An Oklahoma girl at heart, Kathy returned to Oklahoma City to join Governor Henry Bellmon's staff. She then worked for nearly 30 years as Executive Administrative Assistant and Director of Clerks for the Oklahoma County Clerk.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jarvis V. Neal and her mother, Okemah Kathleen Neal.
Kathy is survived by her brother, Rick Neal and wife, Susan; nephews, Joseph and Jackson Neal and Uncle Ross Coffey and wife Jenny. She will be remembered by co-workers for her integrity and kindness, by her neighbors for her thoughtful generosity, her friends for her life-long loyalty, by her family for her unconditional love, and by her ever-present companion, her dog Daisy, who reflected the loving nature and character of her owner.
Family requests that Memorial Donations be made to Wounded Warriors 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
