Eddie Munson, 77 year old Buffalo resident died Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the Harper County Community Hospital. The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the First Baptist Church in Buffalo with the Reverend Jim Steenbergen and Reverend Jerry Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at the Crown Heights Baptist Church in Woodward on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Paul Edward “Eddie” Munson was born on December 7, 1937 on the family farm in rural Harper County to Thomas and Evelyn Munson. Eddie spent his childhood in the Kibby Community where he attended elementary school. Eddie attended Fort Supply Schools graduating from Fort Supply High School. He then attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. He was inducted into the United States Navy, where he served as a Military Policeman and Airman. After Eddie’s Honorable Discharge from the military he returned home and started a dirt construction company with his brother Pete. Eddie was united in marriage to Nadine Shanks on August 21, 1960 at the home of Nadine’s parents in Hollis, Oklahoma. Eddie and Nadine made their home near Fort Supply on the family farm. Years later he started farming and ranching with his father. Eddie continued farming and ranching until his death.

Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; camping in Colorado, and Lake Powell, Utah. He enjoyed going to numerous kids and grandkids activities, as well as church activities at the Fort Supply Baptist Church and later Crown Heights Baptist Church.

He served on the Fort Supply School Board, Fort Supply Lions Club, Farmers Coop Board, and the Board of Directors of the Production Credit Association.

Eddie is survived by two sons, Mark Munson of Vernon, TX; Paul Munson and wife Brandy of Buffalo; three grandchildren, Shantel Dorland; Dalton Munson; and Garrett Munson; son-in-law, Benny Dorland of Electra, TX; special daughter, Pam Deweese and husband Donald of Woodward; brother, Pete Munson and wife Rachel of Fort Supply; nieces, nephews other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nadine; daughter, Vonda Kay; and one sister Thelma Burgess.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Harper County Community Hospital at P.O. Box 293, Buffalo, Oklahoma 73834.
